My inspiration is the landscape around me as seen by working from life. My pastel paintings may look like one could stand in my chosen vantage point and see the view. In actuality, each is a composition telling a story. My goals are to capture—the colors of light…a sense of time and place…a fleeting moment.

My medium is simple colored chalk and toothed paper. The possibilities seem endless. I am transported while I work. The pastels are a journey to me.

People have the ability to bear witness to the magic of our planet and the universe. We are indeed part of it all. It’s about learning to connect with the beauty and order of the natural world. It’s about living the moment and using all of one’s senses to be present. There are many paths to enter the world greater than the human self.
