The Portland Housing Authority is seeking an experienced and highly motivated IT professional for the position of Director of Information Technology. This is a hands-on position responsible for the daily operation of all the Authority’s technology. The responsibilities include: monthly budgeting and purchasing of technology related items; development and maintenance of all hardware and software; and oversight of employees and contract relationships of the IT Department.

Experience with development and maintenance of a fully integrated large computer system at multiple locations in required. Knowledge and experience with the following is also required: Windows 2003/2008 Servers; Linux; Windows OS; VPN; VMware; Microsoft Office; POP3/IMAP/EXCHANGE e-mail servers; Wireless Technology, Voice Over IP and data management. Sonic Wall certification is preferred. Understanding of business basic and 4gl programming languages is desired. Applicants must have graduated from a four year college and have 10 years experience in network engineering, or a comparable combination of education, experience and professional certifications.
